Description Sunflower seeds are renowned for their extensive and prolific root systems. Their ability to soak up residual nutrients out of reach of other commonly used crops is a huge benefit when using in a green manure mix. This fast-growing crop has the ability to add significant biomass production in just a short growing season, serving as additional forage or silage for livestock feed with it’s high protein levels. Its other main benefit is it’s attractiveness to beneficial insects, primarily the bee, perfect for helping with pollination. Suited to both rainfed and irrigated farming systems, sunflowers are a flexible addition to your crop rotations.
